INFORMATION ON THE COOKIE POLICY
This Cookie Policy explains what they are, how we use them and what type we have implemented, i.e. the information we collect, as well as the methods available to the user to control their cookie preferences. The policy also allows you to communicate to the user how the personal data collected by the site https://rewrite.technology/ are processed, stored and archived in a secure manner. In any case and at any time, it is possible to modify or withdraw your consent to the use of cookies on our website.
WHAT ARE COOKIES?
Cookies are small text files that are sent from the website visited to the user’s device (usually to the browser), where they are stored so that the device can be recognized on the next visit. In fact, on each subsequent visit, the cookies are sent back from the user’s device to the site. Cookies can be installed, however, not only by the same manager of the site visited by the user (first-party cookies), but also by a different site that installs cookies via the first site (third-party cookies) and is able to recognize them. This happens because the visited site may contain elements (images, maps, sounds, links to web pages of other domains, etc.) that reside on servers other than that of the visited site. Pursuant to the provisions of the Provision of the Privacy Guarantor of 8 May 2014 “Identification of simplified procedures for the information and the acquisition of consent for the use of cookies”, of the Guidelines 5/2020 on consent created by the EDPB as well as of the Provision of the Privacy Guarantor of 10 June 2021 “Guidelines for cookies and other tracking tools” (hereinafter, “Provisions”), for cookies installed by third parties, the obligations of information and, if the conditions are met, of consent, are the responsibility of the third parties. The owner of the site, as a technical intermediary between the third parties and the users, is required to include in the extended information the updated links to the information and consent forms of the third parties. Based on the purpose, cookies are distinguished into technical cookies and profiling cookies. Technical cookies are installed for the sole purpose of “carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide such service” (see art. 122, paragraph 1, of Legislative Decree 196/2003 – the so-called Privacy Code – as amended by Legislative Decree 101/2018). They are usually used to allow efficient navigation between pages, store user preferences, store information on specific user configurations, authenticate users, etc. Technical cookies can be divided into navigation cookies, used to record data useful for normal navigation and use of the website on the user’s computer (allowing, for example, to remember the preferred size of the page in a list) and functional cookies, which allow the website to remember the choices made by the user in order to optimize its functionality (for example, functional cookies allow the site to remember the specific settings of a user, such as the selection of the country and, if set, the permanent access status). Some of these cookies (called essential or strictly necessary ) enable functions without which it would not be possible to carry out some operations. Pursuant to the aforementioned art. 122, co. 1, of Legislative Decree 196/2003 – the so-called Privacy Code – as amended by Legislative Decree 101/2018, the use of technical cookies does not require user consent. Technical cookies are assimilated (and, therefore, as specified in the Provisions, for their installation, user consent is not required, nor are further regulatory obligations) to so-called cookies. analytics if created and used directly by the first-party site manager (without, therefore, the intervention of third parties) for the purpose of optimizing the site to collect aggregate information on the number of users and how they visit the site, as well as analytical cookies created and made available by third parties and used by the first-party site for purely statistical purposes, if, among other things, suitable tools are adopted to reduce the identifying power of the analytical cookies they use (for example, by masking significant portions of the IP address). Profiling cookies are used to track the user’s navigation, analyze their behavior for marketing purposes and create profiles on their tastes, habits, choices, etc. in order to transmit targeted advertising messages in relation to the user’s interests and in line with the preferences they have shown while browsing online. These cookies can be installed on the user’s terminal only if the user has given his/her consent in the manner indicated in the Provisions. Based on their duration, cookies are distinguished into persistent, which remain stored until their expiration on the user’s device, unless removed by the latter, and session, which are not stored persistently on the user’s device and disappear when the browser is closed.
